Summer 2019 tentative schedule

TUESDAYS starts 8/13


Tuesdays 8:30-9:30 am Advanced  CGC (Community Canine ) w/ Jill Bergmann starts 8/13  (no class 9/3) $160.  
Starts .  All skills for  Advanced CGC test will be taught and dogs tested on week 6. To enroll in this class dogs must be
registered or listed with AKC (AKC number,  PAL, or AKC Canine Partners number and already have a CGC award/title
on record)

Tuesdays 12:30-1:30 pm  ATTENTION FOR EVERYDAY LIFE  8/6   w/ Rene MacBean $160  This class is a
shortened version of our very popular Attention class for Competition dogs.  This class is geared to the pet owner who
would like more focus and attention from their dog in everyday life.  Improve their focus and learning skills to improve
their training and make them a better companion in everyday life.  Loose leash walking,  stay, come, watch, attention
games and tricks will be covered.



Wednesdays starts 9/11

Wednesdays 6:30- 7:30 pm INDOORS  starts 9/11/19  Puppy "Star" Kindergarten w/ Jill Bergmann $160.  This
class is for puppies from 8 weeks to around 5 months old; this class will have some puppy
socialization time, as well as getting your puppy started on basic obedience.  Your puppy is like a sponge
at this age and it is great time to shape learning behaviors and teach basic skills they will need the rest of
their lives.  We will cover sit,   stand, and leave it, off, loose leash walking, name game, come and various
attention games. The focus on this class is to teach the puppy how to learn and to shape positive behaviors and pinpoint
possible future issues, address them now. Puppies will be tested for the AKC Puppy Star Certification on week 6.     
Please bring a flat buckle collar for your dog, 6 foot leash, and human treats cut  into small pieces such as: turkey or
chicken uncooked hot dogs, string cheese, pieces of steak or chicken etc.


Wednesdays 7:45 -8:45 pm starts 9/11/19 CGC and Therapy Dog Class  w/ Jill Bergmann $160. This class is open
to any dog that is 6 months or older and has been in beginner obedience or equivalent.  Beginner skills will be taken to
the next level, with more proofing and distractions on all of the skills taught in beginners, recalls, loose leash walking,
leave it, stays and more.  Dogs will be tested for CGC on week 6.  .All aspects of the Therapy Dog Certification will be
covered. (Testing for Therapy dog is not done in class.  requires outside testing and dog must be at least 12 months at
time of testing
)



Saturdays starts 8/3

Saturday 9:00-10:00 am –starts 8/3 Therapy dog  Class w/ Eileen Hines  $160   CANCELED THIS SESSION WILL
START AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER
This class is open to any dog that is 6 months or older and has been in beginner
obedience or equivalent.  Beginner skills will be taken to the next level, with more proofing and distractions on all of the
skills taught in beginners, recalls, loose leash walking, leave it, stays and more. .All aspects of the Therapy Dog
Certification will be covered. (Testing for Therapy dog is not done in class.  requires outside testing and dog must be at
least 12 months at time of testing)

Saturday  10:15-11:15am starts 8/3/ 19 Puppy Kindergarten w/ Eileen Hines $160.  This class is for puppies from 8

Saturdays 11:30 am -12:30 pm starts 8/3/19 Beginner Obedience w/ Eileen Hines  $160. This class is for dogs 6
months and older. This class will cover all basic Obedience skills and address various common behavioral issues. They
will learn sit, down, stand, wait, stay, come, leave it, loose leash walking, off and more.  The focus of this class is to get
your dog on the road to being a well behaved pet, and teach you how to be an effective, calm and assertive trainer
through use of food, praise and your relationship with your dog .

Refund Policy:
There are no refunds after a class has started.  Reactive dogs will be removed from group classes without a
refund and must sign up for private lessons before going back to group classes .  
There are no refunds or credits
if you miss a class.  
As a courtesy, you can make up a missed class during the same session only, for a class of
the same level, with instructor approval, if time and space permit.  .  There is a $15 fee for returned checks.

No reactive dogs will be permitted in group classes.   They must start out in private lessons first.

Puppy Kindergarten:   This class is for puppies from 8 weeks to around 5 months old.  This class will have some puppy socialization

AKC Puppy Star Program:
How It Works

When you complete a basic training class (taught by an AKC Approved CGC Evaluator) with your puppy (up to 1 year old) your puppy
is eligible to be enrolled in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program.

You'll attend any puppy or basic training class at least 6 weeks. Your instructor will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test at the end
of the course. Upon passing the test, you'll get an form to send to AKC® for  the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. All dogs are welcome
to participate in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program including purebreds and mixed breeds.

Your puppy will receive the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Medal (for display or memento purposes; not suitable as a collar tag). You and your
puppy will be listed in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records. In addition, so that you can continue learning, you’ll receive our AKC S.T.A.R.
Puppy package that includes:

-A beautiful, frameable certificate designating your puppy is in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records at AKC
-AKC Puppy Handbook, a valuable resource
-Discount to enroll in AKC Companion Animal Recovery Corporation, a 24-hour recovery service
-Ongoing Monthly Email Newsletter: Your AKC. This includes training tips and up-to-date information every dog owner needs to know.
We want you and your puppy to continue learning beyond puppy classes.

Beginner Obedience:  This class is for dogs 5 months and older.  This class will cover all basic Obedience skills and address various
common behavioral issues.  They will learn sit, down, stand, wait, stay, come, leave it, loose leash walking, off  and more.  The focus of
this class is to get your dog on the road to being a well behaved pet,  and teach you how to be an effective, calm and assertive trainer
through use of  food,  praise and your relationship with your dog.

Advanced Beginners:  This class is for dogs 5 months and older.  This class is a continuation of Beginner obedience.   We will
perfect the skills from beginner obedience, in addition to doing stand for exams,  automatic sits on loose leash walking,  longer recalls,  
sit stays and down stays and more.  Upon successful completion of this class,  participants will receive Certificates for passing.  ( Must
have taken Beginner Obedience or instructor approval)

AKC Canine Good Citizen Class/Therapy Dog: This class is open to any dog that is 6 months or older.  (even mixed breeds)  This
class will cover all of the exercises that are required to be performed in order to obtain the CGC Certification.  If you ever thought of
making your dog a better citizen in the community or doing therapy work in your local hospital or nursing home,  this is the place to
start.  Week 6 the dogs will be Tested. There is no additional fee from Clever K9 to test for CGC.  (AKC charges $5 to register)  TDI
class will teach additional skills of Leave it,  learning to work around wheel chairs, walkers and canes etc to work in Hospitals and
Nursing homes.  Dog needs to have a basic knowledge of loose leash walking,  sit, down, short recall, and short stay.   Dogs are not
tested in class for TDI.  Independent evaluator is brought as soon as one is available for TDI testing that must also be open to the
public.  Additional fee applies at testing date.

some of the dogs to which I (we) will be exposed may be difficult to control and may be the cause
of injury even when handled with the greatest amount of care.  I understand that the use of dog
training equipment and the use of the Training facility are not without risk to myself, members of my
family or guests who may attend, or my dog, because dog training requires physical movement on
both my and the dog’s part.

I hereby waive and release the property owners Toms River Storage located at 5 Executive Drive,
Toms River, NJ 08755, A and location Tail Waggin Events, 138 Windsor Road , Robbinsville NJ ,
and location  located at 187 Pedricktown Woodstown Road, Pedricktown NJ ,Clever K9
Obedience LLC ,  owners Ann Marie and Michael Scripko, and any instructors, or employees or
family members from any and all liability of any nature or damage which my family, guests, I or my
dog may suffer, including specifically, but not without limitation, any injury, or damage resulting from
the action of any dog or use of equipment.

I expressly assume the risk of any such damage or injury while attending training sessions, or while
on the training grounds or the surrounding area thereto.  In consideration of and as inducement to
the acceptance of my application for training at this facility, I hereby agree to indemnify and hold
harmless the property owners, Toms River Storage,  Tail Waggin Events,  CK9 South at 187
Pedricktown Woodstown Rd , Pedricktown NJ, Ann Marie Scripko, Michael Scripko and Clever
K9 Obedience LLC , and any instructors, or employees or family members from any and all claims,
loss and expenses , including legal fees, or claims by any member of my family or any other person
accompanying me to any training session, by reason of liability imposed by law upon the
aforementioned party for the damage because of bodily injuries at any time resulting there from,
sustained by the aforementioned party or may be alleged to have caused by negligence of the
aforementioned party or any of the person.  I expressly accept to pay all damages incurred by my
dog, regardless of fault,  to any property, person or animal while my dog is on The property located
at 5 Executive Drive, Toms River, NJ  138 Windsor Road, Robbinsville and 187 Pedricktown
Woodstown Road, Pedricktown NJ.
